The Alps near Innsbruck

21 Jan

Most of the pictures here were taken on the way from Innsbruck to Crystal World (of which I will talk about next time). Since the tour bus was moving at speed of 60 to 100 miles per hour, I chose to use the continuous mode on the camera and hope I could later find a good one out of each scene.

The building at the mountain top is a gondola lift station. The big slope is for skiing. I was using 200mm (DX) lens for this shot (f/8, 1/1000). So this mountain was really far from where I was. Viewing on the computer at 100% zoom, I still couldn’t figure out what those horizontal lines are on the hillside.

For the next two, you’ll have to forgive me for the blur. Maybe the road was a bit bumpy at that moment.

Nonetheless, taking shots at the clouds won’t have any ill effects.

A bird or ghost?

I like this one a lot – living a country life that’s far away from everything else. Shot near Crystal World after got off the bus.

A slightly pulled-out shot and also in landscape orientation. Sunlight shining through the clouds, looks like from heaven.
